(August 21, 2008)--The average retail price of gasoline in Texas tumbled 9 cents this week to settle at an average $3.55 per gallon.
AAA-Texas reported Thursday the national decline in gas prices was 7 cents, to reach $3.70 per gallon.
Fort Worth and Houston had the least expensive gasoline in Texas this week, with an average of $3.48.
AAA-Texas says El Paso had the most expensive gasoline, at $3.66 per gallon.
Association spokesman Dan Ronan said the price of gasoline has declined for five weeks, as crude oil prices also fell.
Around the state Thursday, prices ranged from as little as $3.28 a gallon at a station in Brazoria to as much as $3.99 a gallon at a station in Amarillo, according to Texasgasprices.com.
