Teens Killed In Car Crash Had Been Drinking Save Email Print
Reporter: By KBTX-TV

(August 26, 2008)--The blood alcohol concentration report is in for two of the three teenagers killed in a fiery car crash earlier this month in Bryan.

The Brazos County Medical Examiner's office reports that the driver of the car, 16-year-old Dillon Benavides had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 at the time of the crash and that one of the passengers in the car, 15-year-old Alex Dicky had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08.

In Texas, 0.08 is the legal limit.

Test results are not back yet for Dillon's brother, 18-year-old Gus Benavides, who was the other passenger in the car.

Bryan Police said the teenagers died when the car they were in crashed into a tree and erupted into flames in front of the Copperfield neighborhood in East Bryan.

Bryan Police and the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission are looking into the possibility that someone supplied alcohol to the teens earlier that evening at a "Sweet 16" party.

So Voodoo wench. Because some of the people were not as sensitive of these kids YOU have decided to curse them? Where is YOUR sensitivity? Maybe they lost a loved one over something as needless as Drinking and driving and are just venting thier frustration. Who are YOU to decide THEY need to suffer?

It is a sad situation, but they knew they were doing wrond when they were drinking. I know an adult had to see this going on why was no one paying attention. This was to be a party for a 16 year old,not for all of the drunk adults who where going to the party. The adults having the sweet 16 should be held responable

It's ashame that 3 young teens had to die in such a tragic way. I agree with Just Saying is all when they said that the teens weren't thinking. And I do hope that the person or persons who allowed these teens to have access to the alcohol is huddled under their beds in fear that the police will come get them. Anon is also right, someone does need to be held accountable for this tragic. My prayers are with the families and friends of the teens. I am soo sorry for your lose.

Anon - What were they thinking? These kids WERENT thinking, before OR after drinking and driving. I hope the person who supplied the alcohol is huddled under the bed in thier house waiting for the police to bust in and get them. And I bet that at the party all the other kids were talking about how cool it was to have alcohol available to them.

What is going on with kids now a days? Drinking and then thinking it is okay to drive. More innocent people could have been killed due to their negligence. I pray for their families due to their loss, but someone needs to be held accountable for this. They didn't go into a store and buy this alcohol themselves. Thank God it was a one vehicle accident.

So sad these 3 teens had to loose their lives in such a tragic manner, but how long has there been agencies, billboards, laws, etc. warning people about drinking and let alone driving. God bless, so sad

It is very interesting that this story suddenly surfaced right after the college presidents wanted to discuss lowering the drinking age. And for the people who keep hitting on West, give it a rest.

And we have college presidents who want to lower the drinking age?

find out who gave them the alcohol and arrest them. IF you are going to give alcohol to minors then take their keys and make them stay. Of course you should not be supplying minors with alcohol but it happens.
