(August 27, 2008)—Sammie Ford, Jr. was in custody Wednesday in Milam County in connection with an early-morning home invasion robbery Tuesday in the rural Ben Arnold community between Rosebud and Cameron on Highway 77.

The residents told investigators two men broke through the front door of their home and held them at gunpoint, stealing cell phone and a video camera.

Evidence led sheriff’s deputies to a restaurant in Rockdale where Ford was arrested late Tuesday night, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

In a search of a motel room early Wednesday morning, deputies found evidence linked to the robbery and seized four bags of cocaine weighing about 95 grams, a brick of cocaine weighing more that 1,000 grams and a small amount of marijuana, the sheriff’s office said.

They also recovered $3,400 in cash.

The drugs are valued at more than $115,000, deputies said.

Investigators are still searching for the second suspect in the robbery and asked anyone with information to call the Milam County Sheriff’s Office at 254-697-7033 or 254-482-0941.

This is why I think anyone who tests positive for cocaine should be denied healthcare. These drug dealers and drug addicts are terrible, terrible people who are brutal and will stop at nothing to get more drugs, including killing or stealing. If you go to the hospital because you did drugs, you should be left for dead and denied treatment. That is the only way to rid our communities of these thugs; just let them exterminate themselves. Working in a local hospital, I can tell you that many, many people who are hospitalized right now, are there as a direct result of their intemperate or illegal drug use or involvement with selling drugs. They take away time, care and resources that should be given to people who are really ill for reasons they cannot help.

What was wrong with my last post? MAKE him talk so that his accomplice might be found. The longer the crackhead accomplice is at large, the greater the danger to the public. It sickens me that criminals have so many rights, and victims so few.

Ok, now this is puzzling to me, i just read the story about the arrest of this man Sammie Ford Jr., now if he had all these drugs, and money, why would he break into a house in a rural town and steal a cell phone and a video camera. Well maybe there was a reason behind it, maybe to contact his supplier or something without the phone being traced back to him, I guess, and maybe the video camera was for him to record all his illegal loot, and drugs, well maybe i did figure it out, maybe not so puzzling after all, what yall think?

Why would anyone steal a cell phone and video camera in a home invasion when they have over 3k dollars cash and over 100k dollars worth of drugs in there motel? That makes absolutely no sense...but congrats milam county sheriffs.

If the fellow had $3400 in cash and $115,000 worth of cocaine, wonder why he broke into a house in the country to steal a camera and a phone? Sounds fishy!

Beat the information out of the suspect in custody! I'm so tired of public safety being jeapordized in order to protect CRIMINALS!
