Texas Woman Charged After Infant Scalded Save Email Print

A | A | A

(August 29, 2008)--A 32-year-old Texas woman is charged with injury to a child after her 8-month-old baby was scalded with boiling water.

Cpl. Alonso Najera said Friday morning that Margarita Cuellar Alvarado is in the Cameron County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

The Brownsville Herald reported the baby is being treated at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Brownsville Police spokesman Jimmy Manrrique said Alvarado, an undocumented immigrant, was arrested on Wednesday after she took her baby to the hospital.

He said authorities determined the child's injuries did not match Alvarado's story.

Police believe she waited more than a day before taking the wounded infant for medical attention.

If she is convicted of the second-degree felony, Alvarado could face up to 20 years in prison.

Hey, its not just Mexicans or illegals that perpetrate stuff like this. And sadly it is becoming more and more common. Having said that, it IS time we get rid of the illegals and just as importantly, maybe its time we make sure that certain crimes are not elligable for parole. Injury to a child would be top of my list. Death penalty for abusers is next. I'd say just ship her back to Mexico so we dont have to feed her for 20 years, but I reckon shipping her back in 2028 would be fine too. I wonder if she knows how painful scalding can be. Think we should show her? and hey Babe I think its Malo (not 100% sure)

Will lets see, yes I do agree that she should be hung, but hey all of you out there not only do illegals do this kind of crimes there is also cauc. as well as other races too, we should keep that little precious angel in our prayers and hope she survives, to the mother you are a disgrace to your own kind and than they wonder why they are not allowed here guess what you just proven that mexican people are animals and with no heart, a mother is always protecting her kids no matter what, as a mother of 5 I would give my life for them, you will be in your own prison, mala madre.

I agree with Sue. Hang her up with all the other illegals. Wow, boiling your baby and lying about it. Hummm, can't imagine why some wonder why we don't want them here.

No, not a Texas woman ...undocumented immigrant means an "illegal". Why do people want to sugarcoat illegals and their crimes they commit here?

I agree, Sue.

OK before all you holler at me. I am still going to say it. Here we go again with illigials that don't know how to act. Lets just hang her up with all the other illigials. Hope and pray the baby will survive and won't be scared for life because of this stupid woman.
