Teacher Who Disappeared After Teen Lover’s Slaying Turns Up In Texas Save Email Print

A | A | A

(October 2, 2008)--A Tennessee schoolteacher who disappeared after her then-husband killed her 18-year-old lover is evidently now in Austin with her sons and another teenage man.

Authorities say Erin McLean was having an affair with student Sean Powell when her then-husband shot him last year.

McLean, who was 29 at the time, left Knoxville with the couple's two sons, 12-year-old Eric and 9-year-old Ian.

Her now ex-husband Eric McLean, who said he shot Powell accidentally, was charged with first-degree murder.

Jurors later convicted him of the lesser charge of reckless homicide.

He will be sentenced next month.

Sentencing is next month.

Eric McLean’s attorney, Steve Sharp, told The Knoxville News Sentinel he tracked the woman and the boys to Austin, where they were living with an 18-year-old.

A hearing was held via conference call this week in which a judge in Austin awarded Eric McLean’s mother temporary custody of the two boys.

Another custody hearing is scheduled next week.

This woman is obviously on the verge of pedophilia. I don't see why she should EVER get custody of her kids with the way she is behaving. I see no maturity there whatsoever.
