(October 5, 2008)--One of four inmates still on the run after escaping from the Curry County jail in August was back in custody Sunday in West Texas.
Tips led Amarillo police and agents with the U.S. Marshals Service to Larry McClendon Jr. on Saturday morning.
Authorities spotted him leaving an apartment complex, a short chase ensued and he was caught.
McClendon had been sought since his escape, with seven other inmates, from the Curry County Detention Center on Aug. 24.
In addition to charges resulting from the escape, McClendon was facing charges of murder and aggravated robbery.
The three inmates at large are convicted killer Edward Salas, Michael England of Clovis and Louis Chavez of Albuquerque.
