(October 6, 2008)—Killeen police have seized 78 eight-liner gambling machines in simultaneous raids on three Killeen game rooms.

The Killeen Police Department’s Organized Crime Section executed the three warrants at about 10 p.m. Friday after a lengthy investigation, police said Monday.

Officers raided game rooms at 324 E. Ave. D., 104 W. Hallmark and 205 W. Rancier #B.

They also recovered more than $9,000 in cash, arrested four game room operators on warrants charging operating an illegal gambling establishment, and issued 20 Class C misdemeanor citations to patrons, police said Monday.

I agree JC....if we want to spend some $$ and free time on a hobby we enjoy...who are they to tell us we can't...i will drive 4 hours and spend my $$ in La...but why not legalize gampling here (like bingo) and take tax $$ off the top..and be done with it...free up the police to stop real crime!!!

Yes, i agree just make the gambling legal here in Texas, and maybe we won't see so many people getting killed riding tour buses that have unqualified drivers driving people who are drinking or using drugs, that way the people stay here at home and maybe a little safer

Here is a thought Killeen P.D. instead of worrying bout gambling machines how bout investing those man hours in looking for the man who beat and raped that lady in your town....the lesser of the crimes goes top priority i noticed... what a shame.....

The law is the law... if someone is willing to run an illegal gambling operation they are probably doing other illegal things as well.

Texas legallized the Lottery(but can 'not' run it right!!), Why Can't 'They' make gambling legal in Texas, and control things,,, and collect the 'Big-Bucks',, that go to Vegas/Shreveport/Bosier/Oklahoma/New Mexico/Nevada??? WE sure have some 'stupid' people in Austin (Capital). Build Casinos/Hotels in centrally located(Texas), namely, Waco!!! "Where's 'Their' Sign(Stupid!!) Back-To-The-Future!!

Uno Peso, you are so right! Many times I have been to casinos in Louisiana, and all the cars there have Texas license plates on them. The lawmakers in Texas need to travel to the casinos and see all the texas cars and all the REVENUE going to Louisiana!

Get real Texas. All my life I have seen Texas send the money over the borders to Louisiana and Vegas. If Texans want to legalize gambling stop fighting it and make the money for the State.
