(October 10, 2008)—Police have released surveillance images of the man sought in connection with a mid-day bank robbery in downtown Waco.
The robbery happened just minutes before 11 a.m. Thursday at the Community Bank and Trust near the intersection of Washington Avenue and 18th Street.
No weapons were displayed but it was reported that the man showed the bank teller a note demanding money.
Further reports indicate the man fled the bank on foot, toward Austin Avenue in a southwesterly direction with an undisclosed sum of money.
Police spent much of the lunch hour canvassing downtown area searching for the suspect.
The man was described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5-foot-8 with a thin to medium build.
He was wearing a gray shirt with blue collar, dark colored pants and white sneakers.
The man was also described as having hairy arms, short scraggly hair and an unshaven face.
