Soldier Dies In Crash While On Visit Home
A 1st Infantry Division soldier has died in a one-vehicle accident while on a visit home, Fort Hood said Monday.

(November 24, 2008)—Fort Hood Staff Sgt. Derrick Eugene Richardson, 37, has died in a one-vehicle accident during a visit to his home in Evergreen, Ala., the post said on Monday.

Richardson, who deployed in July 2008, died on Nov. 17, Fort Hood said, but his name wasn’t released until this Monday.

He was assigned to the division’s 1st Battalion, 26nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
