(December 12, 2008)--The final two defendants, of 16 people who were indicted in an investigation of a Southeast Texas drug ring, have pleaded guilty to methamphetamine trafficking charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Beaumont said sentencing is pending for all 16 men and women.

Prosecutors say Scott Lewis Christie, 25, and Gregory Lucas Pena, 26, both of Houston, pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

All 16 were charged in what investigators say was a conspiracy to possess and district methamphetamine from September 2006 to August 2007.

Prosecutors say the other 14 defendants pleaded guilty earlier this week.

They are from Woodville, Colmesneil, Houston, Silsbee, Fred, Hillister, Spurger and Kingwood.
