(December 17, 2008)--Days before they were to be delivered to a local ministry for distribution to area children, hundreds of toys were stolen from the Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club.

This is the fifth year the Motorcycle Club has collected toys for Waco's Compassion Ministries Christmas.

Unfortunately this year the Grinch struck before the toys could be delivered.

"They stole about 80 percent of all the toys we had," said club member Ross Stovall.

Compassion Ministries’ executive director Jill McCall said fortunately there have been other donations, but the theft does affect the group’s plans.

"We won't be able to provide as many toys to each of the children as we have in the past due to this loss," McCall said.

The children were not the only ones affected by the theft.

The club had also adopted a local family that is struggling during the holiday.

“It's just unfortunate that in hard times, it's the kids that are going to suffer in this," Stovall said.

The McLennan County Sheriff's Office had no leads in the case late Wednesday.

The Waco Eagles Motorcycle Club is offering a $1,000 reward if anyone has information about the crime or the whereabouts of the toys.

The club can be contacted at (254) 716-7677 or through its Web site.

I have said it before and I will say it again. When you take The Ten Commandments and God out of the equation of a generation the following generations will be nothing but a bunch of animals with no accountability, no morals, no judgement, or standards. Self gratification is the name of the game!!! It's the all about me generation. Then when they are down in the dumps it's time to ask the gov. or hard working people to bail them out!!! Funny how in the 50s and 60s chewing gum and talking in class was the most popular problem in school. Now Rape and Murder are the trend. No prayer, no Ten commandments, no God, results in a generation of no morals, no standards, and no responsibility!!!! You can do all the studies you want but you can not dispute factual evidence!!!! I do not, nor will not push my advice, attitude, or opinion on anyone, but facts are facts. You believe what you want to believe as for me and my family Merry Christmas and May God Bless All of You!!! Even you!!

Everyone who has taken the time to comment on this senseless act .. please also take a moment to donate your TIME or $$ to help this group replenish the stolen toys. It's the children who suffer in all of this .. the ones who are in NEED .. and the ones whose parent/brother/relative has to STEAL to provide gifts.

I just heard about the childrens tragic loss.I would like to help as best I can. If you can give me a list of a few items I would be happy to help replenish you gifts.I don't have much but I can purchase a few at least. I wish I could do more. My prayers are with you to recover what has been taken. It saddens me to think someone could possibly gain something from taking from so many needy children. I think what you are doing is wonderful and I would be proud to help in anyway I can. Maybe like in the movie, this grinch will have a change of heart. One can think only pray.
