(January 5, 2009)—Investigators say a fire that broke out Sunday night in a house under construction in Killeen was evidently set deliberately.

The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. Sunday in the area of Chaparral and Whippoorwill.

The first crew on the scene reported heavy flames and smoke.

Investigators later determined the fire was incendiary in nature, the Killeen Fire Department said Monday.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the Killeen Fire Marshal’s Office at (254) 501-3582 or Killeen Crime Stoppers.
