TEMPLE (February 20, 2009)—Despite the economy, the United Way of Central Texas raised $105,000 more than last year, topping the 2009 goal, officials announced Friday.
This year’s campaign generated $1,705,749, officials said.
“We are so excited to report these results, said Ann Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Central Texas.
“It was a very challenging year, more so than most, but this community tends to take challenges and run with them. We are so pleased that because of the generosity and caring of Central Texans, we will be able to continue providing and improving on the services people of this community have come to depend on,” she said.
The United Way of Central Texas serves Temple, Belton, Salado, Little River, Academy, Rogers, Troy, Cameron, Bartlett and other communities.
