NAVARRO COUNTY (March 06, 2009)-One man was killed late Thursday night in a single car accident near Corsicana.

Jeremy Sherrell, 24, of Waxahachie, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Navarro County Justice of the Peace Bob McQuarey.

A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman told News 10 Sherrell was driving eastbound on Southwest Navarro County Road 1100 when he lost control of his 1992 Pontiac Firebird near a small creek.

The car's undercarriage struck a portion of the bridge abutment, causing it to roll over and crash into the creek bed where it ended up on its roof.

The accident happened at 10:55 p.m., about 1.1 miles west of Oak Valley.
