CAMERON (April 1, 2009)--A 22-year-old Central Texas man wanted in a weekend shooting surrendered to authorities after seeing his pictured posted on the Web site of a local radio station.
Enrique Luna, 22, surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternoon after seeing his picture posted of the Web site of Cameron radio station KMIL 105.1 The Ranch.
Luna told investigators family members pressured him to turn himself in after the photo appeared.
Luna is charged with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting that sent Renee Lopez, Jr., 20, to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
He was shot in the leg.
Cameron police officers responding to a 911 call at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday found Lopez lying in a field in the 1000 block of W. Main Street.
Because of the size of the crowd in the area, they requested backup and several Department of Public Safety troopers, two Milam County sheriff’s deputies and a Milam County constable responded.
