FALLS COUNTY (April 9, 2009)--A paramedic who responded early Thursday morning to a one-vehicle rollover that killed a teenager and two infants later discovered that she had helped deliver one of the babies who died when the car landed upside down in a rural Falls County creek.

Paramedic Brandie Wallace said the accident was “one of the worst calls of my career.”

Veronica Bravo, 17 of Chilton, Deaunta Sims, who was 7-months-old, and De-Asjah Sims, 2 died in the crash.

Ashia Sims, 18 and Nakala Bravo, 2, were injured.

They were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where they were treated and later released.

Bravo was the driver of the 2000 Ford Taurus in which the victims were riding westbound at around 1 a.m. Thursday on Highway 7 about 4-and-a-half miles outside of Marlin, investigators said.

Investigators think Bravo fell asleep and the Taurus left the highway, struck a guardrail and overturned in Big Creek.

Wallace said it was a miracle anyone survived.

“It rolled several times” she said, “so for people to be able to get out and get help, there’s an angel sitting on their shoulder helping them all.”

Wallace said it was only later she realized she had helped deliver one of the infants who died in the accident.

I feel God blessed me with being present when the child was born,” she said, “ and I was blessed to send him home.”

Veronica Bravo’s mother, Connie Stucker, visited the accident scene Thursday afternoon.

Although she lost her daughter, she said she’s grateful her granddaughter, Nakala Bravo, survived the crash.

“I’m going to try to keep her memory alive for her daughter,” she said.

Such a sad tragic story....but really a 17 year old out at 1 am with babies in the car??? People should not have babies if they are not going to take care of them. Such horrible things could be avoided if people would be responsible parents! Its so sad all these young girls having all these babies that they dont take care of. God Bless those poor children!

FYI: Brandie Wallace is not a Paramedic. She is a EMT-B. Praying for the family.
