Lightning Strikes House, Ignites Attic Fire
A lightning strike early Monday ignited a fire in the attic of Central Texas home.

(November 6, 2006)—A lightning strike from the storms that rumbled through early Monday morning ignited a fire in the attic of a home in Hewitt.
The fire was reported at about 7:15 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of April in Hewitt
Heavy smoke was pouring from the attic of the home when the first crews arrived.
The residents said they head a large pop and then smelled smoke.
They escaped without injury.
Damage was centered primarily in the attic.
