KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (July 6, 2009)--A Fort Hood soldier who disappeared after attending his stepfather's funeral in Knoxville was in custody Monday evening in Memphis, Tenn. and will be sent back to his hometown to face criminal charges.
James Adam Letner, 20, disappeared while en route back to Fort Hood, where he was supposed to report on June 30.
He didn’t show up, and Letner’s mother called police to report him missing.
Knoxville Police Capt. Gary Holliday told The Knoxville News Sentinel on Monday that Memphis police located Letner on Friday, determined he was safe and released him.
Then they went back and arrested him after learning he has been charged in Knoxville, Tenn. with auto burglary and unauthorized use of a credit card.

To "C"...did you ever serve our country? Ever take a bullet or dodge one to ensure others freedoms? Been away from family on birthdays and holidays? Been away on extended periods of time to fight for a cause? Probably not, by reading your post. I hope you enjoy your freedoms!!! I personally can answer yes to all those questions. How about you? You must be todays breed of civilians....ungrateful for others sacrifices. Go see the recruiter.
