Texas Man Indicted In Crash That Killed 5 Children
A 32-year-old Texas man has been indicted in the deaths of five children who were killed when his car plunged into a flooded ditch.

HOUSTON (July 9, 2009)--A Houston man has been indicted on intoxication manslaughter charges in the deaths of five children who were killed when his car went into a flooded ditch.

Chanton Jenkins, 32, remained jailed Thursday in Houston where he’s held in connection with the April 18 accident.

His bond is set at $500,000.

Authorities said Jenkins was talking on a cell phone at the time of the crash.

Jenkins was father of three of the five children.

The victims ranged in age from 1 to 11.
