BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (September 24, 2009)--Authorities have identified a Texas woman who was found dead in a truck on Sept. 17 in rural Hancock County, Miss.

County Coroner Norma Stiglet says the body of Natasha Carpenter, 30, of Amarillo, was found inside a burning 18-wheeler.

Officials told the Sea Coast Echo in Bay St. Louis that Carpenter's body was found wrapped in a sheet or tarp inside the burning truck.

Long-distance truck driver Mark Anthony Rice has been charged with capital murder, arson, and destruction of material evidence.

He is held without bond in the county jail.

Stiglet did not release a cause of death.

Sheriff Steve Garber says the investigation is continuing.
