WASHINGTON (March 21, 2010)--Anti-war protesters marched Saturday through Washington, D.C., to urge an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

U.S. Park Police arrested at least eight of the protesters at the end of the march, after laying coffins at a fence outside the White House. Many directed their anger at President Barack Obama, including activist Cindy Sheehan who shouted: "Arrest that war criminal!" through a bullhorn.

The rally and march drew thousands to the park near the White House.

This weekend marks the seventh anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.

Sheehan has been a vocal critic of the war since her 21-year-old son Casey, a 1st Cavalry Division soldier, was killed in Iraq in April 2004.

Her roadside protest near the Bush ranch helped galvanize the anti-war movement.

i normally do not comment on these things, but do to the wonderful facts listed by both sides of the argument i couldn't help but comment. starting with the comment on all wars post wwII, many of the wars fought before wwII were unethical. to the state of the iraq army and air force comment, their army and air force was quite intact before the invasion, as someone who was there i can state that it was quite ready however outmatched. to the vietnam comments, although the people of north vietnam were fighting, they were not fighting for their freedom, they were fighting to gain control over southern vietnam. to the story of cindy sheehan, she is free to say whatever she wants, but like all veterans, excluding those in the drafts, her son volunteered for his service during a time of conflict, knowing the risks associated with the job. to all, getting angry or stating simply incorrect facts neither strengthens your point or your parties resolve. ORGANIZED RELIGION IS THE ROUTE OF ALL EVIL!

Ok then Ben, you made the statement...back it up. Illegal how? Cite the laws violated. Give me facts on how anything was "illegal". Also, you use terms like "wars of agression" or "empire building"...these are terms used by Marxist/Leninists. Under every example of empires throughout history, I do not understand how this term can be applied to the U.S. I would like facts, not just blanket statements.

Since we jumped on Saddam and Afganistan i have not heard of any governments offering money to the families of suicide bombers or alowing terrorists to openly train in their country. If we were ruled by men like william, jeremy, carl, and ben, it would just be a matter of time before we would all be forced to bow toward Mecca and pray in Arabic. Our current ruler is a muslim so it may happen anyway.
