Homemade Bomb Kills Fort Hood Private

(August 25, 2007)—Fort Hood Pfc. Edgar E. Cardenas, 34, of Lilburn, Ga., died Wednesday in Abu Ghraib, Iraq, of wounds he received in the explosion of a homemade bomb, the military said Saturday.

He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team.
