BELTON (August 16, 2011)—Former Troy ISD teacher Kaci Suzanne Pomerenke pleaded guilty Monday to having an improper relationship with one of her students.
Pomerenke, 31, who taught Social Studies at Raymond Mays Middle School and sponsored the school’s cheerleaders, admitted she had sex with a 14-year-old school boy.
She is set for sentencing on Sept. 30.
Pomerenke, 31, turned herself in July 22 at the Bell County Sheriff's Office, a day after she was charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student in incidents involving a teenage boy.
Pomerenke was booked into jail and then was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Troy ISD Superintendent Neil Jeter told an investigator that Pomerenke admitted "to having sexual intercourse with a student on multiple occasions" in January, according to an affidavit submitted for the arrest warrant.
She submitted her resignation July 19 after talking with the superintendent, the affidavit said.
The Bell County sheriff's office was notified of the incidents later July 19 and sought the arrest warrant on July 21 after an investigator viewed an interview at the Children's Advocacy Center with the 15-year-old student who said he and Pomerenke had sexual intercourse on three occasions in January in the teacher's car.
