Gatesville (February 20, 2012)- It's not your average campfire tale of scary poltergeists and haunting goblins, but Janet Ward believes a supernatural force is present in her house.
Ward's 19th century home, which is near the intersection of F.M. 929 and Highway 36, will be the focus of a segment on the A&E program, "My Ghost Story," which focuses on supernatural occurrences.
To be considered for the show, she had to document her spirits, so she asked members of RIPCREW, a paranormal investigative group, to help her.
Shelly Wade of the ghost hunting group says it's not uncommon for them to witness apparitions, dark clouds moving or floating about, and some phenomena that mimic sounds, like a knock being reciprocated by a spirit in the home.
Ward's contract with the A & E television show didn't allow her to go into detail about the strange happenings that were filmed for the show, but she did talk about past events in the house, which has been in her family for nearly a century..
As a child, she says, she remembers playing in a bubble bath and feeling someone tap her on the shoulder, only to find herself alone in a locked bathroom.
As an adults, she notes feeling the presences of someone or something enter into her kitchen when she is there alone.
She's say like the place she calls home, supernatural events happen anywhere, but most people are not open to noticing them.
Her episode of "My Ghost Story" is expected to air in about eight weeks on A & E.
