CAMERON (February 13, 2012)—Bobby McGowan, 48, and Brenda Louise Young, 48, both of Cameron, were in the Milam County Jail Monday charged with injury to a child in connection with what police say was the sustained abuse of two young children.

Cameron police arrested McGowan and Young over the weekend after determining that the boy and girl, ages 5 and 4, had been “subjected to sustained injuries inflicted about their (bodies),” police said in a new release Monday.

The injuries appeared to have been inflicted over time with various objects, police said.

Child Protective Services has taken custody of the two youngsters, police said.

Bonds for McGowan and Young were set at $25,000 each.
