TEMPLE (February 13, 2012)—Police were looking for two men Monday after an armed home invasion late Sunday night in the 1200 block of South 6th Street in Temple.
The resident told officers he was home when two men forced open the door and entered the house at around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.
The victim told officers one of the men had a handgun.
He was struck several times while struggling with the two men, police said.
Another resident saw the struggle and called police.
The two men fled when they saw the resident on the phone, police said.
Nothing was taken, police said.
The resident who was struck didn’t require medical treatment, police said.
The resident told a News 10 photojournalist Monday he was asleep on a couch when he heard a knock at the back door.
He said the two men kicked in the door as he approached and said one of them pointed a gun in his face, pushing him to the couch.
The ruckus awakened the man’s mother, who placed he call to 911, the man, who asked not to be identified, said.
The man said he was pistol-whipped.
He said two young girls who were in a nearby bedroom slept through the incident.
The men for whom police are looking are both black.
Both were wearing dark colored hood sweatshirts and dark pants and had coverings over their face, police said.
An initial investigation indicates the victim and the two men knew each other, police said.
