DALLAS (September 9, 2011)—Elizabeth Escalona, 22, of Dallas, was in jail Friday, accused of gluing her 2-year-old daughter’s hands to a wall and kicking and beating the girl over what authorities said was a “potty training issue.”

Citing police records, The Dallas Morning News reported Friday glue and paint were stuck to the 2-year-old girl's palms and that skin was torn away in places.

The newspaper reported that the child was on life support Thursday.

A hospital spokeswoman told The Associated Press she had no information on the girl Friday.

Escalona is charged with injury to a child.

Her bond was set at $500,000.

According to police, Escalona's mother found the child unresponsive after her daughter called Wednesday morning.
