WACO (June 27, 2011)--Homeowners and pest control companies say they’re seeing more infestations of the dangerous Africanized bee this summer.

One company has received three calls about the bees since last week.

The companies say they’re also encountering hybrid cases in which Africanized bees are interbreeding with European honeybees.

The danger with this type of bee is that when they swarm a person or a pet, every one of them will attempt to sting.

In any other case of regular bees only 10% sting the victim, experts say.

One said says the last thing you want to do if you are attacked is to jump in water, Bees Be Gone owner Allen Miller said.

Miller says one of the best things to do is to get in your vehicle, start the engine and turn on the air conditioner.

Then direct the air vents toward your body, which he says will cause the bees to make their way to the window to avoid the cold air, he said.
