WACO (February 3, 2012)-- As part of an area-wide weather preparedness campaign, the National Weather Service in Fort Worth will help answer questions and train weather enthusiasts how to spot severe weather on Saturday at the Emergency Services Education Center in Waco.
The SKYWARN severe weather program, held in partnership with the city of Waco and McLennan County Emergency Management, will cover thunderstorm formation, weather production, tornado formation and behavior, non-threatening clues that are often mistaken for significant features, and other weather related topics.
The program is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.
The McLennan County severe weather program is one of more than 60 that the Fort Worth NWS Office will conduct through March.
