RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (August 30, 2013)--Another man has died in Saudi Arabia from a new respiratory virus related to SARS, increasing to 43 the number of deadly cases in the kingdom, which is at the center of the outbreak.
The Saudi Health Ministry said the man who died Friday was also suffering from kidney failure.
He had been in intensive care for several days at a hospital in the western province al-Madina.
The new virus, which is related to SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, which killed some 800 people in a global outbreak in 2003, belongs to a family of viruses that most often causes the common cold.
