ATLANTA (November 1, 2012)—The outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to steroid shots for back pain has sickened 377 and killed 28 people in a total of 19 states, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Just one case has been reported in Texas.
Cases have been confirmed as well in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
