Pediatricians’ Group Offers First Report On Kids, Organic Foods

CHICAGO (October 22, 2012)—The American Academy of Pediatrics Monday offered its first advice on organic fruits and vegetables for children.

The group says parents who want to reduce their children’s exposure to pesticides may seek out organic produce, but noted that organics aren't necessarily safer or more nutritious than conventional foods.

The group says science hasn't proven that eating pesticide-free food makes people any healthier.

The report published online Monday in the journal Pediatrics echoes a Stanford University study released last month.
