BEAUMONT (June 19, 2013)—Terrence Ewing Syler, 70, a Beaumont orthodontist, has pleaded guilty to health care fraud and agreed to forfeit more than $829,000.
Syler, who ran Syler Orthodontics in Beaumont, defrauded Medicaid beginning in 2007 by submitting claims for orthodontic devices never provided to patients, prosecutors said.
He faces as much as 10 years in prison.
A date for sentencing hasn’t been set.
