DENTON (March 7, 2013)—Pharmacist Esther Chinedozi Amaka of Arlington, who’s accused of selling prescription drugs from her home after her business closed, has been charged with diverting controlled substances.
Denton police raided her home last month.
Amaka was arrested on Feb. 13 and was freed on $50,000 bond the next day, online jail records show.
State regulators say narcotics turned up missing from a Denton pharmacy before Express Rx closed in 2012 at its licensed location.
Amaka, who's listed as the owner and head pharmacist, is accused of dispensing the drugs from her home.
The Texas State Board of Pharmacy has Amaka's licenses as a pharmacist and for her store.
Board officials say Amaka has denied intentional wrongdoing.
