MINEOLA, N.Y. (October 7, 2012)—Sungeun Grace Lee, a terminally ill New York City woman who won court approval to go off her respirator has decided she wants to stay on life support.
Lee, is paralyzed from the neck down and is in a hospital on suburban Long Island.
An appeals court had ruled Friday that she could be taken off the machines after she said it was what she wanted.
The court order rejected a request by her parents seeking to prevent it.
Lee's lawyer David Smith told Newsday that Lee said Saturday she wanted to make peace with her family and God and will stay on life support.
Before she became ill with brain cancer last year, Lee worked as a financial manager.
