HEARNE (October 24, 2012)—A Waco man died Tuesday afternoon in a highway crash in Robertson County just south of Hearne.

Jon Raymond Ratliff, 47, was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at the scene about a half-mile east of Farm-to-Market Road 2549 on U.S. Highway 190.

A Robertson County justice of the peace released his body to Memorial Funeral Home, in Hearne.

Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Lange Hennig, of Franklin, reported Ratliff was driving a 1988 Ford sedan westbound on U.S. 190 when he drifted into the east bound lane and struck the semi-trailer of a east bound truck.

Truck driver Richard Charles Nathaniel, of Bryan, who was not injured in the crash.

Hennig reported Ratliff was wearing a seat belt.
