WACO (November 1, 2012)-Waco police were investigating two early morning stabbings Thursday.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said one victim showed up at the emergency room at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center at about 4:15 a.m. with a stab wound.
Police were sent to Hillcrest on a check patient call and interviewed the victim, who said at about 3 a.m. while he was in the 4800 block of Sanger Avenue, another man approached him and was armed with a knife.
The victim told investigators he had been walking on a local street when another man approached him and asked for a cigarette.
When the victim said he had none, the other man stabbed him and ran away on foot.
The victim described his attacker as a black man in his late 20s, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
The robber wore shorts, a red jacket and a Chicago Bulls cap.
The victim was the second police were sent to Hillcrest to check on Thursday morning.
Swanton said just an hour earlier at about 3 a.m. officers were sent to another check patient call and found a victim who reported he had been stabbed.
This victim told investigators he had been stabbed by a woman but would not provide any more details.
