COPPERAS COVE (February 1, 2013)—A Killeen preacher was being held Friday in the Coryell County Jail after his arrest in connection with a June 2012 burglary that resulted in a sexual assault.

George Sabat Brooks, 52, who is listed on the Department of Public Safety website as a registered sex offender, was ordered held on a $250,000 bond, charged with burglary of a habitation-entry with commission of a felony.

An arrest complaint signed by Justice of the Peace Bill Price shows Brooks was identified as a suspect in a burglary and sexual assault that was reported to Copperas Cove police on June 25, 2012.

DNA recovered at the scene of the burglary and sexual assault later was matched to Brooks and a warrant was issued for his arrest, the complaint states.

Brooks DNA profile was stored in a state database and evidence from the burglary matched the stored evidence in the data base.

The DPS website shows Brooks was convicted in 1987 of the sexual assault of a teenage girl.

The victim of the assault told police at the time that her attacker worked at the same business where she worked.

Brooks is employed by Real Talk Ministries, according to the ministry’s website, which lists the same address as his Killeen residence.

The Real Talk Ministries website includes videos, several of which show Brooks preaching.
