KILLEEN (April 30, 2013)—Killeen’s Shoemaker High School was released from lock down Tuesday morning after an unexplained incident brought police to campus.
Killeen Independent School District spokeswoman Leslie Gillmore said the lockdown was put in place a little after 10 a.m. and lifted at about 10:45 a.m.
Gillmore said KISD police and school administrators were “assessing a situation” that was reported on campus earlier in the morning but would not explain what that incident involved.
She did say the situation was immediately attended to by school officials and KISD police and no students were injured.
Gillmore also said the incident remains under investigation.
A News 10 reporter who was at the scene said there were several students outside the building in a parking lot and at the front entrance and other students were walking out of and into the building.
The news crew also reported seeing at least one KISD police car at the school.
