WACO (May 14, 2014) Police Wednesday identified two men who were found shot to death in a North Waco apartment as Justin Javier Gonzalez, 24, and Ulysses Gonzalez, 30.

The two men were cousins and at least one of them was the target of the deadly shooting, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Officers found their bodies after responding at around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a possible shooting at the Pecan Tree apartments at 2600 Grim Ave.

The two men were inside an upstairs apartment.

Neither of the victims lived in the apartment, but both were visiting tenants, Swanton said.

They were inside the apartment when one or more suspects entered and gunfire erupted, Swanton said.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

“Investigators believe that the murders were not random and that at least one of the victims was targeted,’ Swanton said.

Autopsies were ordered.
