BRYAN (July 18 ,2014) Dentist Dr. William Birdwell, 67, was sentenced to 21 days behind bars after pleading guilty Thursday in Bryan to charges stemming from the secret taping of a female employee changing clothes in an office bathroom.
Birdwell was appointed to the Texas Board of Dental Examiners by Gov. Rick Perry in 2009 and resigned after he was arrested in May.
He also retired as a partner at Birdwell & Wright Family and Cosmetic Dentistry shortly after his arrest.
The female employee says she discovered the camera in the bathroom while she was changing clothes.

He said he recorded the woman twice.
Birdwell was also sentenced to four years of probation and will have to complete 80 hours of community service and undergo a psychological evaluation after probation ends.
