FORT WORTH (December 19, 2013) David Dominque Rhone, 22, was held Thursday in the Mansfield Jail charged with capital murder in the death of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of an abandoned car in rural Falls County.

His bond was set at $500,000.

Fort Worth police arrested him Wednesday in Mansfield.

He’s charged in the robbery and murder of Adrian Denise Thornton, 59, whose body was found in September in the trunk of her Lincoln Town Car, which was discovered abandoned along a rural road outside of Marlin.

Fort Worth police say Rhone used to run errands for Thornton, who first was reported missing on June 15 by a longtime friend.

Thornton's purse and her identification were found slightly burned, but legible inside her car.

Authorities began searching in the area in August after investigators got information that suggested Thornton may have been in Falls County and perhaps in Marlin.

A passerby spotted the car on Sept. 22 in a wooded area north of Highway 7 on County Road 414 near Chilton and called the Falls County Sheriff's Office.

The Lincoln was towed to the Department of Public Safety Lab in Waco, where Thornton's body was found, wrapped in a blanket partially covered with other items.
