WACO (April 2, 2013)—A preliminary autopsy report sheds little light on the identity of a badly decomposed body that a resident discovered Friday in brush in Waco Creek near the 400 block of South 15th Street, police said Monday.

The body is that of a white male who was 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4,but whose age could not be determined, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

No obvious signs of trauma were found on the body, which had no scars or tattoos, Swanton said.

It’s not clear how long the body had been in the water, Swanton said.

A resident saw an arm sticking out of the brush and called 911 Friday.
