HAMILTON (August 3, 2013) - A golf tournament benefiting the family of a slain Hood County Sheriff's Deputy was held Saturday.
About one hundred golfers attended the Lance McLean Memorial Golf Tournament at the Perry County Club in Hamilton.
The entry fee was $100 per golfer. There was also a silent auction.
The money raised will go directly to the family of Sgt. McLean, who was killed in the line of duty near Granbury last month.
McLean left behind a wife and two special needs children.
Friends describe McLean as a family man, a jokester and an avid golfer.
A fund for the family has been set up at the First National Bank in McLean's hometown of Hico.
