GEORGETOWN (April 2,2013)—Annette Valdez, 28, who spent time in prison for beating one boyfriend has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars for killing another.
Valdez was sentenced Monday in Georgetown after she pleaded guilty last week to murder in the stabbing death of Cory Burns, 19, who was attacked in October 2012 during an argument at the couple's Austin-area apartment.
Records show Valdez was paroled in March 2012 after serving part of a three-year term for assault with bodily injury for hitting another boyfriend in 2011.
