COPPERAS COVE (October 3, 2013) –Williams/Ledger Elementary School in Copperas cove was briefly locked down Thursday afternoon after an upset woman who claimed to have a gun demanded that the school hand over her daughter, whom Child Protective Services workers had picked up earlier.
Copperas Cove Independent School District spokeswoman Olga Pena said the school was placed on a lockdown at 3:05 p.m. Thursday.
School officials were able to deescalate the situation and the lockdown was lifted after about 12 minutes.
Students were released from the day about 10 minutes later.
Shelly Dawn Davis was arrested and charged with terroristic threat.
