WACO (October 15, 2012)—A roadway was blocked Monday afternoon near a Waco elementary school campus while crews repaired a leaking natural gas line.
A spokeswoman for the Waco Independent School District said the leak did not require an evacuation at Mountainview Elementary School, but some pick-up times were disrupted because at least one road that runs near campus had to be closed.
The leak was reported just after 1 p.m. Monday on Mountainview Drive between Bishop Drive and Morning Side Drive.
Police closed Mountainview while crews from Atmos worked to repair the leak.
A fire department supervisor at the scene said the school was not in imminent danger.
