MCLENNAN COUNTY (May 6, 2013)—A wildfire that broke out over the weekend off Simpson road near Crawford in rural McLennan County was 100 percent contained Sunday, the Texas A&M Forest Service said.
The fire charred 28.7 acres, the forest service said.
It broke out late Saturday afternoon and may have been started by burning debris.
Crews from at least nine area fire departments responded.
