MOODY (November 30, 2012)--A former Moody school board member and city employee was sentenced Thursday to state prison after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child.

District Judge Matt Johnson sentenced Michael Lloyd Aycock, 35, to eight years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Aycock was arrested in May on the original charge, but posted a $250,000 bond and was released from the McLennan County Jail.

The complaint stems from an incident in August 2010, in which "Aycock… did intentionally and knowingly have sexual intercourse with another that was not his spouse, and, who at 16 years old was not legally able to give consent and was also otherwise not able to give consent due to a state of intoxication," the affidavit submitted for the arrest warrant said.

Aycock resigned from both the school board seat and his position as public works manager with the City of Moody.
