HILLSBORO (December 19, 2013) A community has remembered the life of a Hill County woman who was murdered last summer.

Birthdays and holidays are usually the hardest for those mending a broken heart.

Kasie Clary would have turned 24 Thursday.

"A lot of people loved her and cared about her," Clary's mother, Allison Clary said.

On Thursday, Clary's family and friends gathered on the baseball field at Wallace Park in Hillsboro to release dozens of green balloons into the sunset.

"We wanted to do something everyone could participate in for her birthday," Allison Clary said.

Allison Clary wrote a special note to her daughter on her balloon.

"It said, 'My Kasie forever. My #9 girl. I love you. Happy Birthday. Love, Mommy,'" Allison Clary said.

Clary's favorite number was nine and lime green was her favorite color.

Clary's body was found near Hillsboro last summer.

Deputies said she was murdered and they are currently working on leads to find her killer.

Those who loved Clary are choosing to remember her life and not her untimely death.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on Clary's murder to contact the Hill County Sheriff's Office at (254) 582-5313.
